OUR OBJECTIVES

Believe one thing clearly: your health isn’t safe in ANC hands. State healthcare is collapsing, and the proposed NHI is just another looting scheme disguised as reform.

Here’s our plan — simple, effective, and corruption-proof:

  • One Comprehensive Medical Aid for All
  • Every South African, from birth to death, gets real coverage. No Mickey Mouse schemes. No exclusions.

  • Funded Without Raising Taxes
  • Paid for through existing taxes such as sin taxes, carbon taxes, and a slice of VAT. NO new taxes are envisaged

  • Private Sector Runs the Show
  • Hospitals and clinics managed by private companies, not clueless bureaucrats. State facilities upgraded to claim directly from medical aids.
  • Parliament Keeps Watch

  • A Health Insurance Fund (HIF) holds the money. Parliament sets doctor fees and keeps greedy players in check.

  • NHI? Hard Pass
  • The ANC’s NHI means higher taxes, worse care, and zero choice. The Free Democrats say: not on our watch.

The Free Democrats believe in the power of free enterprise to uplift communities, grow the economy, and secure a prosperous future for all South Africans. We reject the failed policies of excessive government control, state monopolies, and bloated bureaucracies that stifle innovation and reward incompetence. Instead, we support a system where the state steps back, and individuals step up — building wealth, creating jobs, and driving real change.

Our vision is simple: lower taxes across the board, privatize state-owned enterprises, and slash the red tape that cripples small businesses and deters investment. We trust South Africans — the hardworking, resilient, creative citizens — to lead the way forward, not government departments riddled with corruption and inefficiency.

The Free Democrats will build an economy that encourages merit, rewards effort, and opens the door to opportunity for everyone. With fewer barriers and more freedom, South Africa can unlock its full potential. It’s time to stop funding failure and start investing in the people who make this country work.

The Free Democrats believe the state kills jobs — through high taxes, bloated bureaucracy, and suffocating labour laws.

Here’s how we plan to get South Africa working again:

  • Slash Taxes:
Cut company tax to 15%, personal tax to 35%, and exempt income under R300,000. Free up money for hiring and investment.

  • Ditch the Red Tape:
Scrap restrictive labour laws and racial hiring quotas. Make it easier for businesses to hire based on merit, not mandates.

  • Privatize Everything That’s Failing:
Sell off state-owned enterprises and land. Let the private sector do what the government can’t: create jobs that last.

  • Bring Talent Home:
Tax breaks for skilled South Africans returning — especially in tech, trades, and finance.

  • End Welfare Dependency:
Make social grants conditional on education or training. Reward effort, not entitlement.

The Free Democrats of South Africa take a strong and clear stance on Law and Order, emphasizing the following points:

  • Restoring Rule of Law: We call for the full restoration of the rule of law in South Africa and a committed effort to recover the billions lost through state capture and corruption.

  • Devolution of Police Powers: We advocate for the South African Police Service (SAPS) to be devolved to provincial control, which they believe would enhance accountability and local effectiveness.

  • Opposition to Corruption: A major theme across our posts is fierce criticism of the ANC for systemic corruption, which we see as a root cause of South Africa’s collapse in governance, service delivery, and security.

  • Foreigners and Legal Accountability: The party promotes stringent immigration policies, including the imposition of a substantial visa or settlement fee on all foreign nationals. We assert that all foreigners must be registered as taxpayers or face expulsion.

  • Reducing Government Bloat: The Free Democrats link efficient law and order to a smaller government, free of career politicians and “cadres,” and argue that over-taxation enables looting and weakens the justice system.

  • Public Safety Through Private Efficiency: We suggest a broader move toward privatization and individual responsibility, believing that minimizing state control and maximizing personal freedoms and responsibilities will naturally lead to a safer, more law-abiding society.

  • Ditch the Dysfunction:
The Free Democrats believe South Africa’s state-run education system is broken. Our solution? Strip education from the failing hands of government and open the doors to private and community-driven alternatives.
  • Go Private, Go Online:
We support a shift toward private and online education—faster, smarter, and more adaptable. Education should be as flexible as the students it serves.
  • Reward Learning, Cut Tax:
All education-related expenses—school fees, training programs, even adult education—should be 100% tax-deductible. Investing in learning should come with financial benefits.
  • Earn Your Keep:
Graduates won’t be left in limbo. Instead, they’ll contribute through community service—especially by teaching and training others in need. It’s about building skills and giving back.
  • No Learn, No Grant:
Receiving a social grant? You’ll need to participate in ongoing adult education and training. Empowerment, not entitlement, is the goal.

VALUES AND GOALS

Private Healthcare

The Free Democrats of South Africa support private healthcare for all, funded by existing taxes, with a universal medical aid system to ensure quality care, accountability, and patient freedom.

Lower Taxes

The Free Democrats say: slash taxes, starve the looters, and let hardworking South Africans keep their cash — not fund more corruption, incompetence, or champagne socialism.

Law and Order

The Free Democrats of South Africa demand real law and order — punish the corrupt, protect the honest, restore justice, end ANC chaos, clean up the streets, and build a country that works.
